5 quick ways to get more SEO value from your content marketing - BrightInfo

5 quick ways to get more SEO value from your content marketing - BrightInfo | Digital-News on Scoop.it today | Scoop.it

Digest...

Here are five things you can do today go kick your rankings up a notch:

1. Know your domain

Research your industry and vertical keywords to make sure that they appear in your content marketing for the search engines to pick up on.

2. Validate top keywords

You can verify the terms and keywords you identified are popular in your space by using keyword popularity tools such as the Google Keyword Research Tool. See a list of similar tools at 10 Great Alternatives to the Google Keyword Research Tool.

3. Validate what drives your audience

You can use the Google Analytics acquisition menu to review the organic search terms that bring the most visitors to your site.

4. Think SEO every time you write

When you blog or write, be sure to use the top terms identified and write around them so that they are a central part of your text. Repeating these terms in your text will help the search engines identify the main topics of your text.

5. Measure and repeat

Make sure you check your results with the Google Analytics or Webmaster Tools to see if the terms you highlight are actually being picked up by your audience. Google Webmaster Tools lets you see the result rank/position of each of your terms and monitor what’s trending.

Agnostic Wins - How A Rebel Army Can Still Win Despite New Google

Agnostic Wins - How A Rebel Army Can Still Win Despite New Google | Digital-News on Scoop.it today | Scoop.it

This Haiku Deck and ScentTrail Marketing blog post captures ideas percolating from launching one of the first crowdfunding cancer research platforms (http://www.curecancerstarter.org) l last week.

One of the big Should of Had A V8 moments last week was the realization that the way the new Google set the table does not favor a rebel Rat-Tag army.

Since climbing the latter to AUTHORITY and TRUSTED status now can take years and you will have a giant pissing our your head every step of the way, better to create conversations not website and then inject your conversation into their castles via widgets, apps and white label embedding.

Can a rebel army survive when the new Google swings the machine gun so deliberately and giants are trying to knock rebels to the ground? Yes IF they THINK WEB FIRST and this post should help with that.

What about you? Do you think web first already? How did you get there? What have you changed?

Search Engine Gamification - Million Dollar Idea Freebie - Atlantic BT

Search Engine Gamification - Million Dollar Idea Freebie - Atlantic BT | Digital-News on Scoop.it today | Scoop.it
Search Engine Gamification ties search engine browser, Results Pages (SERPs) and "members" together in a ballet of TRUST and LEGITIMACY, a $1M Idea free.

Via Martin (Marty) Smith
Martin (Marty) Smith's curator insight, March 4, 2013 4:31 PM

Why give away a million dollar idea? Why not? I learned this idea from friends, lost it and found it again from other friends this last Saturday. The idea ties browsers (Chrome, IE, whatever) to the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) via a simple App that uses schema Google makes available to anyone.

The net impact of this simple idea is Google becomes your partner in your company's search engine marketing. You get YOUR logo on Google when a "logged in member" is searching.

Three years ago there was too much "login friction", friction now solved by Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus "create an account with social" APIs. What do you owe me if you use Search Engine Gamification to make millions? Nothing but a donation to cancer research would be nice.

I also stand ready to help anyone create this tool FREE and bet I can enlist some of my friends too. Why give away a million dollar idea? SOT, Sign of the Times and not worth anything locked up in my head :).

Top Tech Trends & People of 2012 (Focus on New Media Communications)

Here is the textbook that I created/curated for teaching my New Media Technology class during the Spring semester of 2012 at Hannam University's Linton Global College. I took great effort to give credit where it is due. I aimed to show my students how they could access enough free info on the web that was of equal or greater value than the wonderful information found in expensive textbooks. Feel free to share and please support the true authors of this book in any way you can (money, likes, blog comments, links, etc.) I am simply the currator of this content.

If you would like a free tablet-friendly PDF file, just email me at kenmorrison30 @ yahoo.com (no spaces)

P.S. There are some typos and honest mistakes in this textbook, but I am comfortable sharing it as is. I am excited to redesign it for next semester.

Thought provoking on many fronts. The notion of need of predictive models (and other tools) to link content with visitors.

donhornsby's curator insight, August 5, 2014 8:02 AM

(From the article): Content Marketing is a tricky idea. You need to create authoritative content, but just enough that community is forming comfortably. Talk to much, in the wrong voice or at the wrong time sand you kill your fledgling community (easy to do).
