Sensibiliser le grand public aux problématiques du cloud computing, tel est le nouvel objectif de BEE SECURE pour 2015 et 2016. Le 9 octobre 2015, l’initiative BEE SECURE a fêté ses 5 ans.

Ivan Nourdin et Giovanni Peccati analysent et modélisent le hasard. Leur nouvelle théorie est déjà appliquée à travers le monde, p.ex. dans la cosmologie et l'informatique.

Niccolo Hurst

Despite the stiff competition, pint-sized Luxembourg was the big winner among the international competitors, winning first prize in the international participants category this week. 

European school student Niccolo Hurst was able to convince the judges with his force measuring helmet. 

The 16-year-old has developed a prototype helmet, which measures the force of impact in case of an accident. This is aimed at helping doctors treating patients with head injuries by providing more information about the circumstances of the accident.

Hack4Kids : Programmieren ist das neue Latein

Hack4kids wird am 13. Juni 2015 im Centre Culturel, Sandweiler von 14.00 Uhr bis 17.30 Uhr stattfinden.
Lassen Sie Ihre Kinder (von 7 bis 12 Jahren) spielerisch die verschiedenen Aspekte der Software entdecken! Alle Kinder können unabhängig von ihrem Wissensstand teilnehmen. Neugier und Kreativität bei Kindern zu erwecken steht im Mittelpunkt von Hack4Kids. Kindgerecht soll ihnen näher gebracht werden, neue Dinge selbst zu entdecken.

Hack4kids will, dass Kinder das Programmieren auf spielerische Art und Weise erlernen.
Das Ziel von Hack4kids ist, Kinder für den Umgang mit Informationstechnologie zu sensibilisieren und ihr Wissen zu verbessern.

Am 22. Oktober fand im Alvisse Hotel in Dommeldange die erste „Cryptoparty for Kids“ im Rahmen der Hack.lu statt.An die zwanzig  Kinder im Alter von 7 bis 12 hatten sich zu diesem BEE SECURE Event eingefunden und erhielten umfassende Erklärungen zu den gegenwärtigen Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien und wie sie sich mit existierenden Sicherheits-Methoden gegen Gefahren im Internet schützen können. Desweiteren wurden sie spielerisch in die Kunst der Verschlüsselung eingeführt.

Für die fünfte Edition der Seniorenmesse Top50+ hatten sich wieder viele Senioren am 03. und 04. Oktober im Casino 2000 in Mondorf eingefunden. Reges Interesse fand die Live Hacking Demo on stage, die von Michael Hamm, Sicherheitsexperte bei CIRCL- Computer Incident Response Center Luxembourg, durchgeführt wurde. Anhand von konkreten Beispielen demonstrierte er, wie Cyberkriminelle vorgehen um Passwörter knacken.

Prof. Herwig Hofmann of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance has been making international headlines this week thanks to a verdict by the Court of Justice of the European Union in a case against Facebook.

Around the globe news media reported on the CJEU’s verdict, which declared the US’s Safe Harbor agreement invalid. The agreement allows US companies to compile data from European users and move them to the US. The CJEU found, however, that not enough was being done to protect user data there, for example from surveillance by the NSA.

Some 4,000 companies could reportedly be affected by this verdict, which has raised questions over the future of data transfer between the EU and the US.
