Lesson Plans | All you need is code

Lesson Plans | All you need is code | 21st Century Learning and Teaching | Scoop.it

An understanding of computer science is becoming increasingly essential in today's world. The ability to code and understand the power of computing is crucial for student's success in a hyper-connected world. In the classroom, coding is linked to improved problem solving and analytical reasoning.

These lesson plans were created to help secondary education teachers introduce coding to students. They will make pupils understand coding concepts in a fun way and offer teachers many ideas and resources. They are relevant to teachers from all subjects and all levels of experience, as they feature teaching-learning activities that will make your students interested and motivated to learn how to code.

The lesson plans were prepared in the context of the Hour of Code in 2014. Teachers were asked to prepare a lesson plan for their own hour of code lesson or a series of lessons addressing coding related areas and make use of the tools and resources introduced on the course.

The lesson plans were created as part of the online course ‘How to Teach Computing: An Introduction to Concepts, Tools and Resources for Secondary Teachers' delivered by European Schoolnet Academy, funding for which was provided by the Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs.
